Davidsons Homes helps scare up support for Harpole community festival
Thousands of visitors descended on Harpole for one of the village’s biggest weekends of the year, with a local housebuilder helping to make the much-loved Harpole Scarecrow Festival possible.

Davidsons Homes threw its support behind this year’s festival with a £1,000 sponsorship, the highest level of support available to businesses backing the volunteer-run event.
Held on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, the festival transformed the Northamptonshire village with imaginative scarecrows appearing throughout its streets, alongside live music, entertainment, craft and games stalls, inflatables and open-top bus tours.
The annual event regularly welcomes more than 10,000 visitors and, over the past 27 years, has raised more than £300,000 for community organisations including local charities, village clubs and the primary school.
Davidsons Homes chose to take the festival’s top sponsorship package as part of its commitment to supporting the community around its Roman Fields development in Harpole.
Simon Tyler, Sales Director at Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “The Scarecrow Festival is such a brilliant example of everything that makes Harpole special. It brings the whole village together, welcomes thousands of visitors and, importantly, raises an incredible amount of money for organisations right at the heart of the community.
“We’re really proud to have supported this year’s festival. We’re building new homes here, but being part of a community means much more than that, so it was lovely to see Harpole buzzing over the weekend and to play a small part in helping make it happen.”
The festival is organised entirely by volunteers, with sponsorship helping to cover the costs involved in staging the weekend, from insurance and printing to entertainment. This means more of the money raised during the event can go directly towards good causes across Harpole.
Davidsons Homes is currently building at Roman Fields off Roman Road in Harpole, bringing a range of new two to five-bedroom homes to the village. The development is officially opening its doors to visitors on Saturday 19 September.
