Line-up announced for comedy car park show in Northampton

A car park comedy show that is coming to Northampton has announced its line-up.

Car Park Party, which will be in town from July 17 to July 18, will also host music shows and Horrible Histories performances in a socially distanced setting where theatre-goers stay in their car.

In partnership with The Comedy Store, the line-up for the two Car Park Comedy shows has now been announced.

Emmanuel Sonubi, Jen Brister, Geoff Norcott and Northampton’s own Andrew Bird will all take to the stage twice at Franklin’s Gardens.

The shows will also be hosted by Andrew Ryan, who has performed as an act and as an MC at some of the biggest comedy clubs across the UK and Ireland.

Tim Percival, director of marketing and communications at Franklin’s Gardens said: “We’re delighted to announce a stellar list of big-name comedians, including local lad Andrew Bird, for what promises to be a hilarious night of comedy and laughter.”

Emmanuel Sonubi bases his comedy on the vibrant cockneys and reprobates he has encountered growing up in London, Jen Brister is critically-acclaimed and has toured with the likes of Frankie Boyle and Romesh Ranganathan, and Geoff Norcott voices his views on politics and social issues and has appeared on Live at the Apollo.

Northampton’s own Andrew Bird has been tour support for Rhod Gilbert, Rob Brydon and Michael McIntyre and has also written for TV shows Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Lee Mack’s Duck Quacks Don’t Echo.

Limited tickets for the comedy shows at 6pm and 8.30pm on July 17 are still available.
