Fundraising group known for Santa sleigh initiative to host family concert and they need YOU there
A fundraising group, which is known for its annual Santa sleigh initiative at Christmas time, is hosting a family concert and they urge the Northampton community to purchase tickets.
The Rotary Club of Northampton Becket is made up of around 40 people of all ages, who raise funds and volunteer on projects to support good causes. These have included The Lowdown, Marie Curie and The King’s Trust.
For an impressive two decades, the volunteers have given families the opportunity to visit Santa who may not otherwise be able to – all while raising money that is donated back to the community.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Santa visits an extensive list of locations across Northampton and this has become an important part of the festivities for many families.

2025 marked the largest Christmas programme they have ever produced, which included the well-established Santa fun run at The Racecourse and a static sleigh display complete with music and helpers outside Tesco in Mereway. More than £12,000 was raised and that was before gift aid was added.
That initiative is set to return as we near the festive season, but there is another event that needs the attention of the Northampton community in the meantime.
The Rotary Club of Northampton Becket is hosting a family concert and promises to be an evening of popular music from film, theatre and the proms performed by the Long Buckby Community Band, directed by Chris Music.
The event is planned for 7.30pm on October 3 and the doors to St Matthew’s Church, Kettering Road will open from 7pm.

Adult tickets are priced at £15 each, which includes a complimentary glass of wine on arrival for over 18s, and child tickets are £10 each. These are for young people aged 12 and under, and include a complimentary soft drink upon arrival.
