'Dream' day for Saints star Pollock as he drives boyhood club to PREM glory

Henry Pollock reflected on a 'dream' day after his player-of-the-match display helped to drive Saints to Gallagher PREM glory on Saturday afternoon.

Pollock produced yet another all-action performance as he helped the black, green and gold to grab a 26-17 win against Exeter Chiefs at Allianz Stadium, Twickenham.

The England back row forward appeared to be everywhere at times as he refused to relent in the south-west London heat.

Pollock is a Saints Academy product and you could see what it meant to him to take his team to the title they deserved at the end of a season in which they finished top of the regular-season table.

"It's a dream!" the 21-year-old said.

"Obviously the season has been so long and I'm just delighted.

"It's everything I imagined.

"The week's been amazing.

"Some absolute legends of the club are leaving and we wanted to give them the right send-off.

"All that pressure and then we've showed up so I'm happy.

"It's the biggest club game you can play in: the PREM final for your boyhood club.

"The whole team had pressure and I thought we rose to it really well.

"Pressure's a privilege and if you use it in the right way you can really use it to your advantage.

"Exeter were amazing. We knew they were going to come at us in the second half and we showed up really well.

"Obviously (defence coach) Lee Radford is leaving us this year and we wanted to give him the right send-off with that defensive set - and I think you saw at the end we did that.

"I'm just so happy because it's what you dream of as a little kid. You dream of these moments, you dream of playing on big stages and you saw what we can do when we're at our best."
