Ipswich Town winger Gwion Edwards is a doubt for tonight's League One fixture against Northampton.

The Welshman, who was a half-time substitute during the defeat to Peterborough United last Tuesday, has been managing a minor calf injury.

Elsewhere, tonight's game at Portman Road will be too soon for Toto Nsiala (hamstring), Cole Skuse and James Wilson (both knee).

"Nobody is coming back," first-team coach Matt Gill told iFollow Ipswich. "It’s pretty similar to where we were leading into the weekend.

"We’ll take a little look at Gwion today to see if he’s available but other than that, it’s pretty much the squad we had for Saturday’s game."

Ipswich did not play at the weekend after their game at Shrewsbury Town was a late victim to the weather, called off less than an hour before kick-off.

The Tractor Boys are failing to meet pre-season expectations of a promotion challenge this season, currently 12th in League One although they do have games in hand.

On Northampton, Gill added: “They obviously were quite direct under Keith and had unbelievable success last year in getting promoted during a real tough spell for the club, so his work shouldn’t go unnoticed.

"But they did try to pass the ball a little bit more than they had done previously with the current manager in charge at the moment.

“But I would like to think the majority of the work we do is on us and how we approach the game and how we can take the initiative."
