Supercomputer predicts 2026/27 National League North table positions for Brackley Town, Morecambe, Macclesfield and rivals

The beginning of the 2026/27 National League North season is now only just around the corner, with Brackley Town gearing up for their return to the English sixth tier.

It was a disappointing previous campaign for the Saints as they were relegated from the National League due to a disastrous final three months but there’s optimism the club can bounce back up immediately.

Manager Andy Whing has been working tirelessly alongside recruitment staff Joe Taylor and Gareth Dean to completely overhaul the squad.

So far, 12 new signings have been completed to bring the squad size to 14 – alongside the only two players to stay: Matt Lowe and Kyle Morrison.

As much as the small nature of the squad may bring concerns, Whing has secured the majority of his top transfer targets and more additions will arrive in the coming weeks.

It’s going to be very difficult to forecast exactly how Brackley’s season may turn out, but a Supercomputer prediction has already been made.

Brought to us by Tipman Tips, this 24-team table details the predicted points and reasoning for each position.

From 1st down to 24th, here’s how Brackley and their new Step 2 rivals are expected to get on…

1st: Morecambe (91 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Fresh from relegation, full-time budget and infrastructure miles above the level.

2nd: Chester (86 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Big, well-run club with strong home crowds and Step 2 experience.

3rd: Scarborough Athletic (83 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Momentum club, strong recent recruitment and rising crowds

4th: Brackley Town (81 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Also freshly relegated, well-organised and used to competing near the top.

5th: King's Lynn Town (78 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Consistently among the division's better-resourced clubs.

6th: AFC Telford United (76 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Solid full-time-ish setup, usually competitive.

7th: Southport (74 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Sleeping-giant fanbase, decent recent recruitment.

8th: Darlington (73 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Huge home support gives an edge, if the squad clicks.

9th: Hereford (71 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Perennial play-off contenders, strong fan base.

10th: South Shields (69 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Ambitious, well-backed club continuing their rise.

11th: Macclesfield (67 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Rebuilt club on an upward trajectory.

12th: Buxton (64 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Steady improvement, tough home ground.

13th: Spennymoor Town (62 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Reliable top-half regulars.

14th: Oxford City (60 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Mid-table consistency.

15th: Merthyr Town (58 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Solid Welsh outfit, historically mid-table.

16th: Marine (56 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Punch above weight but squad depth is thin.

17th: Worksop Town (54 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Newly re-established at this level, could go either way.

18th: Radcliffe (52 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Ambitious project but still building depth.

19th: Chorley (50 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Recent decline, will need a reset.

20th: Bedford Town (48 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Yo-yo club, likely to be in a scrap again.

21st: Harborough Town (44 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: First season up — survival is the target.

22nd: Hebburn Town (42 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: NPL champions but step-up is steep.

23rd: Hednesford Town (40 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Back-to-back promotions catch up eventually.

24th: Spalding United (36 points). Supercomputer’s reasoning: Smallest budget of the promoted sides, toughest task.
