1. Goalkeeper: Adam Smith
Started every league game between the sticks during Town's march to the title. Looked on course for another clean sheet against Bristol Rovers before two late goals wiped out Cobblers' lead.
2. Right-back: Brendan Moloney
The attacking full-back had his troubles with injury during the campaign but he played the full 90 against Rovers, one of 25 successive starts between November and April.
3. Centre-back: Zander Diamond
Cobblers' stalwart at the back started every single league game from mid-October onwards and played his part when promotion was sealed against Bristol Rovers.
4. Centre-back: Rod McDonald
One of the finds of the season after signing out of nowhere the previous summer. McDonald hardly featured before Christmas but became a regular during the second half of the season, making 28 appearances in all.
