5. Left-back: David Buchanan
Little did anyone know the impact he'd have after joining a year earlier. Played every minute of every game in all competitions and regularly captained the side, including against Rovers when promotion was clinched. | Getty
6. Right midfield: Nicky Adams
A rare header gave Cobblers a 23rd minute lead and paved the way for a promotion-clinching draw. Lasted 77 minutes on his 40th appearance of the season. | Getty
7. Central midfield: Danny Rose
Signed from Oxford in January and managed to force his way into Town's midfield thanks to some impressive performances. He started the last eight games of the season and was named 'star man' for his display against Rovers. | Getty
8. Central midfield: John-Joe O'Toole
No goal but another excellent performance by the midfielder. Started just one of the first 12 matches that season but came into his own thereafter, missing out only twice over the next 37 league games. | Getty
