Made one excellent low save from Rooney in the first-half but by and large this was a comfortably-earned clean sheet, his first in over a month and only fourth all season... 7
Justified Curle's decision to put him back in the team over Hall-Johnson with a solid, no frills outing at right-back. Defended at the back post particularly well and limited Salford to little on their left side... 7

Looked a centre-back playing at left-back at times but he's a very good defender and showed that with a strong display. Has the composure to know when it's on to play and when to clear his lines... 7
Much more like his old self after last week's blip. Dominated aerially and made tackles in his usual aggressive manner and also won the penalty that crucially got his side ahead, even if it was a touch theatrical... 7.5
Not only does he continue to churn out accomplished performances wherever he plays, he's now adding goals to his game. Up to four for the season, putting him alongside Williams at the top of the charts... 8 CHRON STAR MAN
Just oozes class. Always gives the player on the ball an option and keeps play moving with careful and measured but also incisive passing. Would have been MOTM had he lasted a bit longer. Cobblers simply must keep him fit... 7.5
Had an early header saved by Letheren but this was a subdued day at the office for the midfielder, who was unusually sloppy with his passing at times... 6.5
Took a while to warm up but his cross led to Goode winning the penalty and then delivered a pinpoint ball for Williams to tee up Turnbull... 7
His darting, thrusting, jinking runs were the main source of danger for Town in the first-half and he was rewarded with a precise spot-kick, vindicating the decision for him to take it... 7.5
His first league start of the season surprised many but what he gives you is energy and vigour and Cobblers have missed those qualities in recent times. A nuisance for Salford's defence. Deserves another start at Carlisle... 7.5
Waited all game for a chance to come his way and when it did he put too much on his attempted chip. Still, can't fault his work-rate or endeavour and his cushioned header was perfect for Turnbull to convert... 7
It's to his immense credit, not to mention talent, that Cobblers didn't really miss McCormack when he came on. Very tidy cameo... 7
Almost scored within 30 seconds of coming on for his second Cobblers debut, firing over from the edge... 6.5
Even in his short time on the pitch he won a couple of tackles and helped see out the closing stages to safeguard against a collapse... 6.5
