Luton Town manager Nathan Jones has not ruled out the possibility of sending Peter Kioso back out on loan after he was linked with the Cobblers.

The 21-year-old attacking full-back impressed during his loan spell with Bolton Wanderers before being recalled by the Hatters on Monday morning.

Former Daily Mirror journalist Alan Nixon then tweeted that Northampton are 'keen' to take Kioso on loan for the remainder of the season.

Speaking about the decision to recall Kioso, who played at the PTS in a pre-season friendly last summer, Jones told the Luton News: "It was a few things really, Martin Cranie is out so we need a bit of cover in that area, but the thing was always this is the plan for him and Gaby (Osho), getting them back in our environment for a little while and then assessing them.

"He’s had a real good loan up at Bolton and we’re delighted with his progress. He might still go back out, he might still go back there, it’s just we’re just assessing him a little bit, getting him back involved with us for a few weeks and then going from there.

“He’s done well, he’s been looked after, we were very careful on the club we chose because we had a lot of interest in him. We kept him around for a long period, but we kept Bolton there because we believed it would be a good loan for him.

"It’s not beyond the realms that he’ll go back out there, but right now he’s back involved in our fold and that was always the plan."
