The 29-year-old joined the club on trial in 2015 under Chris Wilder before signing his first contract. Seven years, 56 goals and 299 appearances later, he is now part of the furniture at Sixfields. The first man in over 20 years hit 300 games for the club – and only the 15th ever – here is the story of Hoskins’ remarkable Cobblers career…

13. At the double
The 2018/19 season was not a particularly memorable one but Hoskins did score a brilliant brace against Tranmere in February. There was much ridicule over the decision to start him up front on his own at Prenton Park but, not for the first time (or the last), Hoskins silenced his critics in style. He also scored a stunner at Oldham on the final day of the season. Photo: Pete Norton

14. Top scorer
Hoskins would top score for Cobblers in 2019/20, scoring 12 goals en route to promotion. He gets a kiss from Nicky Adams for his goal against Crewe here. Photo: Pete Norton

15. Seeing red
Hoskins received the only red card of his Cobblers career against Mansfield in March 2020, the final game before lockdown. His foul on Harry Charsley was only 10 minutes in and left Town's place in the play-offs vulnerable, but he and the team would bounce back in style.... eventually! Photo: Pete Norton

16. Wembley success
Hoskins rebounded from his red card by scoring Town's third goal against Exeter in the play-off final at an empty Wembley Stadium. Photo: Pete Norton
