Jordan Turnbull and Alan McCormack were among 13 released in July, Scott Wharton and Callum Morton have returned to their parent teams, while skipper Charlie Goode became the club's first £1million pound player when he signed for Brentford.
So, with all those going one way and another nine coming in, how is the squad shaping up for Saturday's opener against AFC Wimbledon? Let's take a look...
1. Goalkeeper: Steve Arnold
Currently in possession of the gloves following his performances in the play-offs, but must keep his wits about him with because his new rival is young and hungry for regular game-time.
2. Goalkeeper: Jonathan Mitchell
He's not come on loan to Sixfields to make do with a place on the bench. Has the quality and hunger to dislodge Arnold as Curle's number one, though might have to wait for his chance between the sticks.
3. Defence: Fraser Horsfall
Young but has potential. An aggressive, front-foot defender who will predominantly play on the left. Very much in the Goode mould - he even has a long throw - but that does not mean he should be viewed as a direct replacement.
4. Defence: Cian Bolger
Immediately appointed captain by Curle and he looks well-suited to the central role in Town's back three. Will lead and organise from the heart of the defence and he's unlikely to lose too many headers in either box. Photo: Pete Norton
