Police, firefighters and paramedics were earlier called to a four vehicle collision in Kingsthorpe at 11.37am earlier today (April 6).

A car - believed to be a Toyota Rav 4 - overturned in Queen's Park Parade outside of the dental practice.

Kingsthorpe Road (A508) still remains closed both ways as emergency services deal with the incident.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "An appliance from Mereway attended and found that four vehicles had been involved in the incident, with one of those vehicles having flipped onto its roof.

"The road was closed and the fire service requested that an ambulance be called as a woman was trapped in one of the vehicles.

"Hydraulic cutting equipment was used to release the woman, and the ambulance service have administered first aid to two people who have since been taken to hospital."

There are reports of slow traffic from the Cock Hotel to Asda along Harborough Road.
