Truck driver dies following A43 smash in Northamptonshire

Police confirmed a lorry driver died after a truck overturned on the A43 in Northamptonshire on Friday morning (May 21).

An Air Ambulance landed at the scene near Brackley but despite the efforts of trauma specialists on board and paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service, the driver sadly died.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "The incident happened shortly after 10am on Friday (May 21) at the BP roundabout of the A43 at Brackley.

"Road closures currently remain in place northbound between the roundabout and the A422 Buckingham Road while investigation and recovery work continues.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area for some time."

Crash investigators are appealing for witnesses to get in touch and want to hear from anyone who may have relevant dash-cam footage taken prior to, during or after the collision.
