and on Freeview 262 or Freely 565
Roadworks on Weedon Road, westbound, adjacent to Upton, began at the end of September and are set to finish after 11 weeks, around the start of December.
The ongoing work, managed by Cadent, involves replacing gas pipes in the area and will also impact nearby homes.

We’re replacing the old pipes with new plastic ones, which will prepare you for greener gas in the future. We’ll need to turn off your gas supply during some of our works and may require access to your home, but our teams on site will provide you with more information.”

The situation is compounded by nearby roadworks at Harlestone Road Roundabout and Nobottle Road.
The Harlestone Road works began on September 23 and are set to continue until December, according to traffic reports. The project involves widening the carriageway and constructing new footways on all approaches near the roundabout.
Four-way traffic signals have been put in place, leading to significant congestion, with single-file queues forming in all directions. The works are reportedly causing chaos in the area.

Two-way traffic signals on Nobottle Road are also in place for National Grid utility works until November 11, which are also causing large queues at busy periods.
These two sets of roadworks were approved by West Northants Council to take place simultaneously.
Cllr Phil Larratt, WNC’s Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport said: “Essential utility works are being carried out by Cadent Gas on Weedon Road. We understand that this may cause disruption for road users and residents in that area and would like to thank them for their patience whilst these essential gas main renewals works are completed to reduce the risk of future gas leaks in Northampton.”
