Northampton Male Voice Choir’s MD, Stephen Bell, is preparing to run the London Marathon to help the choir achieve its target of raising more than £20,000 this year for Prostate Cancer UK.

Stephen has been Musical Director of Northampton Male Voice Choir (NMVC) for the last 10 years and is preparing to run the race of his life when, at the age of 58, he runs the London Marathon on October 3 2021 to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK as part of the Choir’s overall fundraising efforts for this charity.

Stephen started running again in March 2020 when lockdown one struck and hasn’t stopped.

“My first run was on a running machine and it was simply shocking” says Stephen “I knew it would be a long hard road to get to a place where I could enter the London Marathon but I’ve persevered and I’m in a great place”.

Northampton Male Voice Choir works tirelessly to raise money for great causes. It has recently launched a new, ten-week “Zero to Choir Hero” campaign inviting Northamptonshire men to enrol in a programme to learn to sing and join NMVC in a major charity concert later this summer in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
