Police say a cyclist was rushed to hospital following a crash in a Northampton industrial estate in the early hours of Friday morning.

Part of a key route through Brackmills was closed for nearly three hours while investigation and recovery work was completed.

Salthouse Road finally reopened at around 8.20am between the junctions of Caswell Road and Gowerton Road, near Brackmills Country Park.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: "We received a report of a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle in Salthouse Road at 5.40am on Friday morning.

"The road was closed between junctions of Caswell Road and Gowerton Road while emergency services were on scene.

"A man has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening."

Crash investigators are also appealing for anyone who was in the area, or may have dashcam footage which could help their enquiries to call 101 quoting incident 45 of March 19.

DIY giant Wickes, logistics firm Great Bear, and Baxter Healthcare all have warehouses nearby.
