Police divers take to the water in Northampton as they search for illegal items again

Police divers have been seen in the water of a Northampton lake once again this afternoon (June 11).

This is the second time in as many weeks the professional divers have been spotted in the main lake in Abington Park.A Northamptonshire Police spokeswoman confirmed that the latest dive is also a planned search of the water.

Divers are looking for illegal items and substances.

The spokeswoman added that when the last planned search took place on May 28, a machete, a 'burglar's kit' and a bike that had been reported stolen were all found in the water.
