Northampton woman jailed after campaign of controlling and physical abuse against another woman
A Northampton woman has been jailed for two years after subjecting a woman to a campaign of controlling and physical abuse, police have reported.
Lilly Morgan Hubbard, aged 25, was also handed an indefinite restraining order when she was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesperson said Hubbard regularly checked the woman’s phone and started arguments if she had been speaking to female friends.
Hubbard later became physically abusive and, in July 2025, Hubbard was arrested and charged by West Midlands Police with assault by beating and intentional strangulation.

She was released on conditional bail but, according to Northamptonshire Police, continued contacting the woman despite being prohibited from doing so.
Concerned for Hubbard’s welfare, the woman resumed contact and travelled to Hubbard’s home in Bordeaux Close, Northampton, on October 21, police said.
A police spokesperson said that two days later Hubbard deliberately set fire to a carpet and toilet roll to stop the woman leaving.
Fearing for her safety, the woman secretly contacted Northamptonshire Police and Hubbard was arrested.
An investigation by the force’s Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit led to seven further charges.
Hubbard pleaded guilty to controlling or coercive behaviour and arson, alongside the West Midlands offences of assault by beating and intentional strangulation.
At Northampton Crown Court on July 16, she was jailed for 24 months and handed a restraining order which will remain in place until further notice.
Five other charges were ordered to remain on file.
Detective Constable Christopher Pritchard praised the woman’s “bravery and courage” in coming forward.
