Former car dealership in Northampton, where huge cannabis farm was found, goes up for sale for half a million pounds
A ‘rare opportunity’ has come up to buy a former car dealership – where a huge cannabis farm was found – in a busy part of Northampton for half a million pounds.
The former Hamilton Car Sales dealership, located on Kingsley Park Terrace, is believed to have closed at the end of 2023 and is now listed for sale at £550,000.
The 8,000 square foot showroom is up for sale, with estate agents saying that it is ideal for reopening as a showroom, but that the site could also accommodate a ‘substantial development’.
The estate agents said: “We are pleased to offer this rare opportunity to acquire a former car showroom and garage. The property would be ideal to reopen as a car showroom or any other showroom which would benefit from a vast glass frontage. Subject to planning and approvals the site may also lend itself to a substantial development, however this is not a "subject to" sale.

“Set over two floors the ground floor is mainly showroom space, two offices, workshop, spray booth and staff rooms with toilets. The first floor has another two offices and a large storage space in the attic space over the rear showroom and garage.”
In July, Northamptonshire Police raided the vacant site and discovered 320 cannabis plants spread across five rooms within the large empty premises, with an estimated street value in the hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Police have said that investigations are still ongoing to identify those responsible. Anyone with information about activities at the premises is encouraged to report it via 101 or at www.northants.police.uk/RO, quoting incident number 24000454893.
