All of them were jailed during the year just ending and received some of the heaviest sentences handed down by judges at Northampton and other crown courts.

A Crown Court judge jailed Corby peadophile Daniel Haslam for six years in February. A jury found the 26-year-old guilty of sex offences involving a child.

Drug dealer Gurprit Singh Bains was jailed for a total of 11 years earlier this month after being convicted of manslaughter. Rushden man Phillip Brown died of meningitis as a result of suffering broken ribs in an attack by Bains, aged 42, in 2018 over a £10 drug debt.

ANDROS ALLEN nearly severed a man's nose with a Stanley knife after he tried to throw the thug out of his Burton Latimer home, then fractured the skull of a woman who tried to stop his brutal attack. Allen, 38, was jailed for eight years at Northampton Crown Court.
