Not this year, not next year... nor for many years to come.
All of them were jailed during the year just ending and received some of the heaviest sentences handed down by judges at Northampton and other crown courts.

A judge branded CHRISTOPHER LYNCH a “dangerous and predatory male” as he was jailed for 16 years for a string sex offences involving children. A jury found the 38-year-old from Kettering guilty following a trial at Northampton Crown Court in September during which his victims were forced to give evidence.

SAM GORMAN was jailed for seven years after deliberately driving his car into a woman's house. The 65-year-old from Irthlingborough was also armed with two knifes, and after the crash got out of the car and punched his victim several times.

A 72-year-old peadophile is spending the next 15 years in jail for historic child sex offences after a four-year police investigation finally landed him in court in September. PETER DAVID FREEMAN was arrested after two victims bravely took their harrowing stories to police.

Two members of rival drugs gangs were jailed for a total of 11 years over a drive-by shooting in 2018. A gunshot victim turned up at hospital with a shattered arm after bullets were fired between cars during a high-speed chase through Rushden. KAINE SIMMS, 24, was found guilty of GBH and 23-year-old SAM COLE (right) admitted possession of a firearm.
