Christmas 2021 wasn’t quite the same for this bunch of killers, rapists, child abusers, drug dealers, thugs and thieves.
Not this year, not next year... nor for many years to come.
All of them were jailed during the year just ending and received some of the heaviest sentences handed down by judges at Northampton and other crown courts.

Masked raiders CARL CINA (pictured) and Paul Northall smashed their way into a family’s South Northamptonshire home carrying a knife and an axe .They demanded car keys and made threats to stab the home owner if he didn’t hand them over — before fleeing when they realised the family did not own a vehicle. Cina, 54, and 45-year-old Northall were found guilty after a six-day trial in February and jailed for a total of 25 years.

DALE BATES, 44, beat his “best friend” and left him for dead in his Northampton home in June 2020. Bates called 999 after finding Andrew Pomroy, aged 53, dead three days following a fight — which a post mortem showed left the victim with a smashed jaw, fractures to the throat and severe brain damage. Bates was jailed for 16 years after being found guilty of manslaughter in May.

Care worker JOSHUA NOKES, 24, was jailed for nine years in September after admitting a series of horrific sexual offences against vulnerable victims at a home in Northamptonshire.

SAMUEL COX, 23, was jailed for 15 years in January for conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life after a shotgun was fired multiple times through doors and windows of a former pub in Northampton in January 2018.
