Boy, 15, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after young man was stabbed twice in Northampton

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 19-year-old man was stabbed twice in Bailiff Street on Monday (March 29).

The attack happened at around 9.30pm when a young man was stabbed twice and armed officers from the Northants Police Dog Section had to give him life-saving first aid before paramedics arrived to rush him to hospital.

Officers believed the attacker, who fled on a pushbike, could have been as young as 16.

A 15-year-old boy, from Northampton, was arrested earlier today (April 1) and is currently in police custody. The victim remains in hospital and is recovering from his injuries.

A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: "Officers are still seeking witnesses to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting incident number: 21000174777."
