Armed police surround house in village near Northampton - pictures

An armed police stand-off took place in a village near Northampton this evening (Saturday, April 17)

Around 15 armed police officers surrounded a house in Northampton Road, Harpole, at around 6.15pm.

Three armed officers blocked off the back of the house while 12 were standing at the front, all armed with guns and police dogs. The stand-off lasted around an hour-and-a-half.

All police vehicles were gone by around 8.10pm.

It is not yet known why officers were called to the house. Northamptonshire Police have been contacted for further information.
