These are the faces of some of Northamptonshire's most notorious and high-profile killers and crooks put behind bars during 2020.
Their crimes include murder of a 63-year-old grandmother shot dead outside her own home, stabbings, manslaughter, sex offences and violence, stealing £300,000-worth of cigarettes in a string of burglaries from supermarkets and taking treasured heirlooms.
This is not a list of all offenders jailed who went through the court system, but includes those who were sentenced for some of the most serious offences in the county during the last 12 months

MICHAEL READER, 70, was jailed for after a jury found him guilty of shooting his estranged wife Marion Price in cold blood in Earls Barton in December 2019. His best mate STEPHEN WELCH, 61, was also convicted of murder for his role in the plot after being convicted on a majority verdict.

PETER GOING, 68, from West Haddon was sentenced to six years ten months in jail for assaulting his former partner on multiple occasions.

Three men from Wellingborough — Sifean Ghilani, 20, 18-year-old Tristan Patel and Levar Thomas, 21 — were all found guilty of conspiracy to rob and manslaughter and jailed for a combined 39 years five months over the killing of Stevie Pentelow in Little Harrowden in June 2019

DAVID MALLIN sexually abused three girls and manipulated them into staying silent with money, The 68-year-old from Northampton was jailed for 18 years for 18 counts of sexual assault.
