Some Bellway homes have already been made available for potential buyers to register their interest and they have proven extremely popular, with nearly 400 people signing up for 70 homes off Bants Lane.

Now David Wilson Homes has released plans for a further 68 brand new homes off Telstar Way, on the Duston Gardens development, opposite the Bellway properties.

The new builds will consist of three, four and five bedroom properties and will provide 136 jobs.

More than £380,000 will also be invested into the surrounding area.

John Dillon, managing director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We’re really excited to launch this new Northamptonshire development and it is great to be delivering much needed homes to this sought-after area.

“We have had sales success at our nearby developments The Avenue and Overstone Gate and we are now excited to contribute towards the local community and watch it begin to flourish.”

The sales site is due to open next month and the housebuilder is hoping to have the first homes ready for summer this year.

The new plans are part of a wider scheme of 138 new homes being built on part of the former roller bearings site, which closed in 2002.

Other parts of the site have already been redeveloped and are now home to Poppy Field Farm pub and carvery, Timken Grange care home and St Luke’s Medical Centre.
