A new housing estate in Northampton has received a huge amount of interest from potential buyers, despite properties not being available yet.

Duston Gardens, off Bants Lanes, will be made up of 70 homes, including two, three and four bedroom houses.

More than 370 people have already registered their interest in the properties, which are not due to go on sale until November this year.

Located on the former British Timken site, the two-bedroom houses feature an open-plan living and dining area, and the three and four-bedroom homes include an open-plan kitchen and dining room.

All of the properties have a private garden and the overall site includes public green spaces.

Bellway, the builders responsible for the homes, is now warning people who are interested to register or face missing out.

Andrew Odams, sales manager for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “Duston Gardens is a sought-after location just two miles from the centre of Northampton which has benefited from the regeneration of the wider Timken site and also has plenty of green space and recreational facilities on its doorstep.

“A bowls club, tennis club, playground and Mendip Park all sit just north of the site, offering a range of activities to appeal to all ages.

“Earlier this year, we retained our five-star builder status for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation (HBF), so buyers can be confident they will be making a sound investment if they purchase at Duston Gardens.

“With such a high level of demand, I would encourage those looking for a new home in Northampton to register their interest now to avoid missing out.”

Bellway began construction at Duston Gardens development, which will be made up of 63 homes for private sale and seven for rent or shared ownership, earlier this year.

The development is part of a wider scheme of 138 new homes being built on part of the former British Timken site, which closed in 2002.

Other parts of the site have already been redeveloped and are now home to Poppy Field Farm pub and carvery, Timken Grange care home and St Luke’s Medical Centre.
