A foodie festival which proved popular during its first event will be returning to Northampton later this month.

Pop-up Partners organised the event where local traders set up in chalet style huts during the last Bank Holiday weekend on the Senate Lawn at the University of Northampton’s Waterside campus.

As the festival was so popular among residents last time, organisers have arranged for another event to take place on the Bank Holiday weekend at the end of this month.

Similar to the previous event, visitors will be able to pop by to buy takeaway food or they can make the most of the space and stay to enjoy food and drink.

There will be a mixture of tried-and-tested and new traders at the event, which will run from 11am to 7pm from Friday, May 28 to Monday, May 31.

Lauren Steeples, organiser, said: “We're returning to the University of Northampton with our ‘Food Festival at the Waterside 2.0’.

“After such a successful weekend earlier this month, where it was so nice to see people out and about, enjoying the sunshine and supporting local business, we are so excited to return.

“We have a variety of local traders joining us, from street food, sweet treats and refreshing drinks, all served from our wooden cabins and a variety of food trucks.

“We love working with such brilliant local traders; you'll find some familiar faces and some newbies too.”

The event is free to access for visitors. Four-legged friends are also welcome as long as they are on a lead.

Any customers driving to the event are asked to use car park four at the campus.
