At the time of the inspection, eight people were receiving care through the provider, which supports those with dementia or physical disabilities living in their own homes.

The report read: “Staff worked with people to achieve positive outcomes. People were supported to make their own decisions and choices, with staff routinely seeking consent before providing care and support.

“People were supported by caring and compassionate staff who knew them well and communicated with them in ways that met their individual preferences. Staff demonstrated a commitment to promoting people’s dignity, respecting their privacy and encouraging independence.”

Inspectors also found staff understood responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and staff offered a ‘person-centred’ approach to supporting health and wellbeing.

The report said: “One person told us that during the Covid outbreak she developed anxiety about going out. She told us how her carer ‘slowly, slowly started to introduce me to go back out again’ and ‘I’d probably still be stuck in my flat, so it’s been life changing for me and helped with my mental health.’”

The consistency of staff was also praised, along with staff knowing service users well and tailoring the service to individual preferences.
