Northampton housebuilder raises more than £11,000 for breast cancer awareness charity
A Northampton-based housebuilder has raised more than £11,000 for a breast cancer awareness charity after bringing together businesses from across Northamptonshire and neighbouring counties.
Persimmon Homes Midlands organised a charity golf day at Woburn Golf Course, raising £11,284.86 for CoppaFeel!, a national charity dedicated to improving breast cancer awareness among young people.
The fundraiser brought together employees and suppliers from Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, including Barnes Building Services and MV Kelly.
Following the event, representatives from CoppaFeel! visited Persimmon's offices in Northampton to receive a cheque and celebrate the fundraising achievement.

CoppaFeel! works to reduce late diagnosis of breast cancer among young people by encouraging them to check their chests regularly and recognise potential warning signs.
Its work includes visiting schools and universities to educate young people about breast cancer symptoms and the importance of contacting their GP if they notice unusual changes.
David Ablett, managing director at Persimmon Homes Midlands, said: “I’m over the moon with how much we raised for such a worthy cause in just one day. I want to say a huge thank you to all those who took part, including those who donated raffle prizes and helped organise what was a great day.
“I’m pleased with the level generosity of our suppliers and colleagues and to be continuing to support CoppaFeel! this year.”
The golf day is the latest in a series of fundraising activities organised by Persimmon in support of the charity, including Wolf Runs, treks and office fundraisers.
Emily Clayton, director of fundraising at CoppaFeel!, said: “Everyone at CoppaFeel! would like to say a huge thank you to Persimmon Homes Midlands for their incredible support. Your support throughout the last few years with your Wolf Runs, treks, and office fundraisers has made a real difference.
“This latest golf day was another brilliant example. Every pound will help us reach more young people with our life-saving message to check their chest. Thank you to the whole team, to your contractors and suppliers, and to everyone who played and donated on the day.”
