We are lucky to have lots of thriving and innovative companies here in Northampton and beyond, with teams working hard to make a name for our county in the business world.
As we are in the busiest quarter of the year for many, with Christmas starting to creep its way in, now is the perfect time to show your support.
From long-standing and well-known ventures, to new additions hoping to establish their roots here, these are 10 stand-outs that we urge you to visit before the year is out. Let’s take a look…

9. Spread
Popular sandwich shop Spread opened in Adnitt Road, Abington in January 2023, less than three years after grazing tables and boxes kickstarted the business for Amy Adams. The venture began when Amy created a grazing table for her daughter’s third birthday in May 2019, and this sparked her passion to become more creative with catering. The shop has been a roaring success in the town and is now approaching its third anniversary. Photo: Spread

10. Abraxas Cookshop
Abraxas Cookshop, which is approaching its 30-year anniversary, has four locations and an online store – including two in this county at the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village and on St Giles’ Street. The business was set up by sisters Helen Sparrow and Sarah George in 1996 and all stores opened within the decade to follow. The passionate town centre team offers an inviting and welcoming experience in-store, and it is well worth a visit. Photo: Abraxas Cookshop

11. Genevieve’s Cafe
Genevieve’s Cafe, a family-run business in Dragonfly Way, Pineham village, hoped to become a vibrant community hub after opening in May last year. They offer drinks, breakfast, brunch, lunch and cakes, with a soft play area to entertain children and a dog-friendly space. Genevieve’s has remained as a cafe with entertainment for little ones, as it was important to founder Laura Hughes to attract other members of the community as well as families.
