We are lucky to have lots of thriving and innovative companies here in Northampton and beyond, with teams working hard to make a name for our county in the business world.
As we are in the busiest quarter of the year for many, with Christmas starting to creep its way in, now is the perfect time to show your support.
From long-standing and well-known ventures, to new additions hoping to establish their roots here, these are 10 stand-outs that we urge you to visit before the year is out. Let’s take a look…

5. St Giles Cheese
St Giles Cheese was launched by Steve and Caroline Ward back in 2010 following a holiday to France, where they enjoyed all the products they are now accustomed to selling to the community. The family-run deli and cheese shop is approaching an impressive 15 years at the heart of the town centre. After a rocky spell in 2025 when St Giles Cheese experienced two burglaries in seven weeks, any visits now mean even more to the dedicated team. Photo: St Giles Cheese

6. Oak Wood Antiques
Steve Culverhouse launched Oak Wood Antiques on Oakwood Road in April this year, around a month on from the closure of his former business of 14 years – The Old Bakehouse Antique Centre in Abington Avenue. As Steve could not let his love of quality Victorian and Edwardian furniture go, he decided to open this venture on three weekdays and a Saturday morning and has been pleased with the reception from the community. 7. The Butchers Block
Anthony Barton launched The Butchers Block, located at Billing Garden Village, back in 2013 and recently expanded his business to house a butchers, deli and farmshop under one roof. Anthony knew 2025 was the right time to grow and double the premises in size when a nearby unit became available. The upgrade took five-to-six weeks and the one-stop-shop reopened to the public at the start of July, which has been well-received by customers. Photo: The Butchers Block

8. The Beauty Box
The Beauty Box, in Quarry Road, opened its Duston premises more than three years ago and was named best salon in the county for the third time at the Northants Life Awards this summer. Founder Rebecca Kelsey achieved her dream of opening a salon by the time she was 30, with the aim of becoming the go-to for vegan and cruelty-free beauty, massage and skincare treatments. Her admirable journey into the industry began as a teenager. Photo: Khandie Photography
