Fresh welcome to hidden gem Northampton town centre venue which has now reopened following refurbishment
There is a fresh welcome to visit a hidden gem Northampton town centre venue, which has now reopened following a generously-funded refurbishment.
Northampton & County Club’s venue George’s, located in a Grade II listed building on George Row, invited customers back on Tuesday October 20 after a revamp paid for by one of the club members.
The improvements include freshly paid entrances to both the club and George’s on George Row, featuring the distinctive blue and gold colours to bring a fresh look to the historic town centre setting.
Open to everyone, George’s offers a welcoming place to meet friends, enjoy brunch, lunch and afternoon tea, or take a break at the heart of Northampton. Customers do not need to be club members to visit.

The refurbishment, completed by Lisa Blacker of Hometech UK and Emily Blacker of CORA Social Media, is a further step in the club’s ambition to preserve its heritage while opening the doors more widely to residents and visitors.
Chair of the Northampton & County Club Adrian Pryce DL said: “We are enormously grateful to our member whose generosity has made this refurbishment possible. It is a wonderful investment in the club and the welcome we can offer to Northampton.
“Although George’s is part of Northampton & County Club, it is open to everyone. We would love people to come through the newly painted entrance, discover what is inside and enjoy a coffee, snack or meal with us.
“Our ambition is to preserve the best of the club’s past while creating new reasons for people to visit, meet and connect. The reopening of George’s is another positive step on that journey.”

The club’s vision is encapsulated in its strapline, which is centred around preserving the past, connecting generations and shaping the future – and the team looks forward to welcoming returning and fresh faces to George’s.
