The new address for the Tesco store will now be at 15 Abington Street, which was formerly River Island, before the fashion retailer shut up shop and relocated to the Grosvenor Centre.

The new premesis open hours requested by supervisor Steven Andrzejuk are from 6am to 11pm, which includes the sale of alcohol.

According to auction site, Allsop, the 2467 square metre Tesco Metro store, which costs £251,576 per year to rent, has already been sold.

Tesco Metro first opened in Abington Street on Monday, April 4, 2011, on the site of the former Woolworths store, and created 80 jobs.

The Tesco move was announced on the same day that bosses at Sainsbury's in the Grosvenor Centre confirmed it was also shutting down.
