Britain's Got Talent finalists Northants Sings Out to headline Northampton theatre show alongside celebration of young musicians

Britain's Got Talent finalists Northants Sings Out will star in a festive concert as Royal & Derngate prepares to showcase musical talent from across the county.

The choir will bring Christmas Party Playlist Live On Stage to the theatre on Saturday, November 14, promising a celebration of festive favourites, nostalgia and energetic performances.

Northants Sings Out reached the final of Britain's Got Talent and attracted attention when its performance of Madonna's Music passed one million views online, with the singer herself among those praising the group.

The homecoming concert is one of two November events putting Northamptonshire performers in the spotlight.

On Sunday, November 15, Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust (NMPAT) will stage Youth in Concert, the first major performance of its annual season.

The concert will feature five county ensembles: the County Youth Concert Band, County Youth Choir, County Youth Brass Band, County Youth Big Band and County Youth Orchestra.

Together, the events will offer audiences an opportunity to hear both an established local choir and some of Northamptonshire's emerging musical talent.

For the young performers, Youth in Concert represents a chance to take part in a major county showcase, with brass, choral, orchestral and big band music all represented. The programme brings different ensembles together under one roof for an evening celebrating musical achievement and talent.

They form part of a busy week at Royal & Derngate, which also includes a programme of comedy and entertainment.

Barry From Watford brings Shooting From The New Hip to the venue on Wednesday, November 11, followed by musical comedy duo Flo and Joan with their new show With Feeling on Thursday, November 12.

Friday, November 13, features two comedians, Mark Simmons performing Jest To Impress and Red Richardson bringing his Premium Economy tour to Northampton.

On Saturday, November 14, Sindhu Vee presents Swanky, her first UK tour in five years, while comedian and doctor Michael Akadiri performs Don't Call Me Uncle!

The following day, Antiques Roadshow medals and militaria expert Mark Smith will present Antiques Expert On The Road.

Tickets and further information about Northants Sings Out, Youth in Concert and the other November performances are available through the Royal & Derngate website.

The two local music concerts take place on consecutive days, offering a weekend focused on Northamptonshire voices and musicians.
