Young performers take centre stage at free performing arts workshop
Children took to the stage in Duston as Little Voices Northampton hosted a free performing arts workshop for the local community at Duston Community Centre.

Held on Friday 28 August, the workshop gave children aged 4+ the chance to explore singing, drama and performance in a fun and supportive environment. The session was open to all children, whether or not they already attend Little Voices' regular weekly classes.
Throughout the day, the young performers learned three songs and then worked together to create their own script to link the songs into a performance. The children also took part in arts and crafts activities, creating masks to help them get into character. The children were encouraged to contribute their own ideas, helping them develop confidence, creativity and teamwork along the way.

The day culminated in a special performance for parents, giving the children the opportunity to showcase what they had created and put their new skills into practice.
Singing and drama can offer a wealth of social and psychological benefits for children, from building confidence and self-expression to developing communication and teamwork skills. Little Voices places particular emphasis on making sure every child has the opportunity to participate and shine, surrounded by the encouragement and support of their tutors and friends.
The team has more workshops planned, giving local children further opportunities to get involved in singing, drama and performing. Places can be booked now: https://bookwhen.com/littlevoicesnorthants#focus=ev-sog5a-20261031210000
