Two local teenagers interview Pirates of the Caribbean star
Two teenage musical theatre performers from Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire are making a name for themselves in the entertainment industry through their award-winning podcast, Skipping Through Theatre.
Nathan Hargreaves, from Bedfordshire, and Maddie Thornton, from Northamptonshire, launched the podcast with the aim of inspiring more young people to discover the world of stage and screen. Through their interviews, they speak to actors, performers and creatives, giving listeners a behind-the-scenes look at the entertainment industry.
One of their biggest milestones so far has been interviewing Kevin McNally, best known for playing Joshamee Gibbs in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. During the interview, Kevin shared stories from his career across film, television and theatre, including his experiences working on one of the world’s most successful film franchises. In the episode Kevin also shares what his experience was like working with Johnny Depp and shares a funny behind the scenes story.
Since launching Skipping Through Theatre, Nathan and Maddie have interviewed a wide range of guests from across the entertainment industry, building a platform that celebrates the people behind the performances and encourages young people to get involved in theatre.
The success of the podcast was recognised when Nathan and Maddie won the YouthTV Young Creative Award, celebrating their creativity and dedication to inspiring others through their work. The podcast also recently partnered with YouthTV.
Nathan and Maddie continue to release new episodes of Skipping Through Theatre, sharing conversations with guests from the worlds of stage and screen.
