TV comedy stars draw another sell-out crowd as Daventry's comedy boom continues

Daventry's growing reputation as a destination for live comedy continued on Saturday night as TV stars Larry Dean and The Noise Next Door helped deliver another sold-out night at Daventry Comedy Club on June 13th.

Audiences were treated to an outstanding evening of comedy featuring Larry Dean, The Noise Next Door, Julian Deane and MC Carl Jones.

The headline performance came from Larry Dean, one of the most highly regarded stand-up comedians working in Britain today. A resident comedian on Saturday Night Live and a familiar face from Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and House of Games, Dean delivered a superb set that had the audience laughing from start to finish.

With Larry now preparing to take his latest show to this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, organisers feel fortunate to have secured him for a performance in Daventry before another busy summer on the national and international comedy circuit.

For many audience members, seeing a performer who regularly appears on Saturday Night Live in an intimate Daventry venue was a rare opportunity and one that was clearly appreciated by the packed audience.

The Noise Next Door, one of the UK's most successful improv comedy groups and finalists on Britain's Got Talent, were equally well received. Their lightning-fast audience interaction and completely improvised set created some of the biggest laughs of the evening and demonstrated exactly why they continue to be one of the country's most sought-after live comedy acts.

For organisers Short Circuit Comedy, however, the biggest success story remains the way Daventry has embraced the club since its launch.

"We're incredibly proud to be bringing comedians of this quality to Daventry, but the real story is the audience," said Steve Gray from Short Circuit Comedy.

"The support we've received from local people has been fantastic. Every show creates an amazing atmosphere and the feedback from both audiences and comedians has been overwhelming. Daventry has really got behind these nights and that's what makes them so special."

Audience members were equally enthusiastic.

Sarah from Lang Farm said: "We've been to every Daventry Comedy Club so far and every one has been brilliant. The atmosphere is fantastic, the comedians have been outstanding and it's become one of the nights we look forward to most."

The latest show continues a remarkable run for the club, with each event selling out and helping establish Daventry as a place where audiences can enjoy top-quality live comedy close to home.

Attention has already turned to the next Daventry Comedy Club on Saturday 12th September, featuring internationally acclaimed comedian Marcel Lucont, alongside James Ellis, Kate Lucas and MC James Cook.

Demand has already been exceptionally strong, with well over half of all available tickets being snapped up on the day they were released to the club's mailing list and WhatsApp community.

"We're seeing more and more people discovering the club through friends and family who have attended previous shows," added Steve. "The community around these nights continues to grow and we're excited to bring another fantastic line-up to Daventry in September."

Tickets for the September show are available now via Short Circuit Comedy, with organisers encouraging comedy fans to book early to avoid missing out.
