Three Northampton kickboxers aim for the world championships
Three local athletes from Northampton are aspiring to travel to Budapest in Hungary in August to compete at the Hungarian Kickboxing Championships.

Dario Dospinescu, Dan Berry & Hayden Francis who train at Northampton Martial Arts based in the Weston Favell area of the town, compete regularly across the country and now have their sights on fighting Internationally for their first time in one of Kickboxing’s most prestigious events in the world.
In order to do so, they are seeking sponsorship from the local community to help them get there.

Kickboxing is an amateur sport that unfortunately does not receive grants and therefore athletes have to self fund themselves.
The 3 fighters are trying to raise money to help fund their travel, accommodation, tournament entry and equipment fees in order to fulfil their dreams to compete internationally.
Coach Paul Francis of Northampton Martial Arts says “these 3 young men train hard 4 times per week and have dedicated most of their lives to the sport of Kickboxing and deserve their opportunity to showcase their skill set wider”.
They have recently taken to enduring 100 rounds of sparring in a short space of time to help raise funds, however still need help financially to achieve their goals.
They have a Go Fund Me page that welcomes any donations big or small.
If anyone can help donate it would be greatly appreciated. They also welcome any local businesses to contribute and in return would be happy to promote the businesses as part of a sponsorship package. For more information, contact can be made via email to [email protected].
