Students bring "charm" and hard work to Baby Basics Northampton in exciting new work experience partnership
Baby Basics Northampton is celebrating the resounding success of its brand-new work experience initiative, following a week-long visit from five outstanding students from Weston Favell Academy.
The collaboration marks a major milestone for the charity, which moved into its new office in February this year with a vision to deeply immerse its mission within the local community. By partnering with Weston Favell Academy, Baby Basics Northampton not only streamlined the referral process to support local families in need but also launched its very first student work experience cohort.
The five attending students made an immediate, unforgettable impact. Throughout the week, they worked alongside resident volunteers and trustees, completely winning over the hearts of the entire team. Far from just observing, the students rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into the charity's daily operations.

An Incredible Impact in Just One Week:
Essential Supplies: The team prepared and put together over 10 of BBN’s signature Moses basket starter packs, ensuring newborn babies in the county have a safe place to sleep.
Operations & Logistics: They took charge of managing inventories, organising the main stock room, and keeping the charity's vital supplies streamlined.
Future Planning: The students provided hands-on support for the upcoming launch of a brand-new project.
"Our mission is to ensure that every baby born in our county has a safe place to sleep, but that is just the start," says Alisha, Charity Fundraiser at Baby Basics Northampton. "We wanted to bring the community into our new home, and these students have been a wonderful addition to the team. They are a great representation of Weston Favell Academy.
"They have sprinkled their charm throughout the week and have had a huge impact on us. Their hard work and relationship-building with our volunteers and meeting our trustees has been beautiful to see."

In addition to volunteering their time, the wider community at Weston Favell Academy has been busy fundraising to support Baby Basics Northampton’s ongoing mission. This partnership highlights the incredible power of connecting local youth with grassroots charity work, leaving a lasting legacy for both the students and the families BBN supports.
