Putting in a shift – Northampton bus operator recognises engineer for outstanding effort during heatwave
An engineer at Northampton bus operator, Stagecoach Midlands, has been chosen for recognition because of his dedication in putting in the shifts to keep people moving, across the region, during the recent heatwave.

Skilled Engineer, Karl Keeler, was recognised for his outstanding levels of dedication, as well as the quality of his work. Commendations show that “his commitment has been outstanding, really proving his worth week in week out”. Even during the recent hot weather, he has continued with an outstanding level of performance to make sure that local buses keep moving.
Stagecoach Midlands runs a Star of the Month scheme, based upon its values. Karl was particularly considered, by the judges, to have shown the value of ‘We are stronger together’, with an emphasis on working together, as one team, to create an environment where everyone thrives, making a difference for the greater good of local customers.
Mark Whitelocks, managing director of Stagecoach Midlands, said: “It is important to recognise when one of our colleagues goes above and beyond for our customers, and Karl has certainly done that over the last period.
“Being an Engineer, making sure that our buses - and so our customers - can get where they ned to go, is a skilled profession, and I am so proud that Karl has shown the ability and dedication to get the job done.
“Engineers work every day to make sure that people can access work, education, essential services, and visit their friends and family. Without the dedication of our Engineers, Drivers, Presentation and Support teams, none of this would be possible.”
