Pomfret Arms summer party returns with all‑day disco, house and community spirit

The Pomfret Arms Summer Party is set to return on Sunday 9th August, bringing a full day of sunshine, disco, house and feel‑good energy to one of Northampton’s most cherished beer gardens. What began as a simple idea from international DJ Dr Packer has grown into one of the town’s most anticipated summer traditions — a celebration built on music, community and giving back.

Dr Packer originally dreamed up the event as a way to reconnect with his hometown and create something that felt genuinely inclusive. Together with Northampton’s own Ian Loveshack, the pair shaped the Pomfret Summer Party into a standout moment in the local calendar. Although Greg can’t attend this year, he sends his love, hopes everyone has an incredible day, and plans to be back next summer.

This year’s line‑up is led by Charlie Price, fresh from supporting Michael Gray and known for his uplifting blend of disco and house. He’ll be joined by Steve Knows, Phil West — whose Hedkandi and Michael Gray credentials bring serious pedigree — and Ian Loveshack, co‑promoter of the event and creator of One More Time.

Adding extra sparkle to the afternoon is a special live PA from Anna‑Marie Johnson, whose soulful voice and original tracks have earned her a loyal following. Her performance will blend her own music with disco favourites and club‑classic anthems, all delivered live.

The day’s soundtrack continues with a diverse roster of DJs:

Pasq Avola (UltraVegas / MK’s House Affair), Percy Williams (Butlins Adult Weekenders), Mark Manning (Inspiration FM & Back2House Radio), and father‑and‑son duo Jeff & Tom Wood, known for their shared passion for soul and disco. Local favourites Swong, Sandy B and Ryan Leivers/Wozzy keep the energy flowing from midday until sunset.

The Pomfret Arms Summer Party also acts as the perfect Sunday follow‑on from Electric Paradise, giving festival‑goers a chance to wind down or keep the weekend alive in a more intimate, community‑driven setting.

In true Pomfret spirit, every DJ is performing for free, with all donations going to Animals in Need Northamptonshire — a gesture that reflects the event’s heart as much as its music.

With sunshine, great people, and a soundtrack built for pure good vibes, the Pomfret Arms Summer Party continues to show Northampton at its very best: warm, welcoming, and ready to dance.
