Discussions focused on a range of issues, including rural crime, farm fire safety, mental health and wellbeing, emergency response arrangements and opportunities for partners to work together to strengthen support for rural areas.

Farmers spoke positively about their relationship with Northamptonshire Police's Rural Crime Team and the work being undertaken to tackle rural crime and protect local communities.

The Commissioner also visited the show's education area, where children and young people were learning about farming, food production and the vital role agriculture plays across the county.

Danielle Stone, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Northamptonshire, said: "Blakesley Show is a fantastic showcase for Northamptonshire's farming community and a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the people who live and work in our rural areas.

"I was pleased to hear positive feedback about Northamptonshire Police's Rural Crime Team and the difference its work is making. These conversations are essential in helping us understand local concerns, strengthen partnerships and identify where we can do more to support our rural communities.

"Our farmers and rural businesses face significant challenges, but they are also incredibly resilient. By listening, working together and focusing on practical solutions, we can continue to improve support and ensure rural voices are heard."

The visit comes ahead of the Commissioner's Rural Round Table this week, which, alongside Sarah Bool MP, will bring together partners and stakeholders to continue discussions on the opportunities and challenges facing Northamptonshire's rural communities.
