Piddington, Hackleton and Horton Open Gardens Weekend Returns for 2026
Community Event Set to Raise Funds for AFC Hackleton and Horton House Cricket Club

The much-loved Piddington, Hackleton and Horton Open Gardens Weekend is set to return on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June 2026, welcoming visitors from across the local area for a weekend celebrating gardens, community spirit and fundraising.
Running from 11 am until 4 pm on both days, the event will once again see residents across the three villages open their gardens to the public, showcasing a wonderful variety of outdoor spaces — from colourful cottage gardens and peaceful courtyards to wildlife havens, vegetable plots and beautifully landscaped family gardens.
The event is free to attend and has become one of the highlights of the village calendar, bringing together neighbours, families and visitors for a relaxed and enjoyable summer weekend. Many of the gardens will also offer refreshments, homemade cakes, plant sales and the opportunity to chat with the owners about gardening ideas and inspiration.
Following the huge success of previous years, organisers are hoping 2026 will be the biggest event yet, with even more gardens participating across the villages.
Supporting Two Important Local Clubs
This year, the Open Gardens Weekend will raise money for two fantastic local organisations that play an important role in village life — AFC Hackleton and Horton House Cricket Club.
AFC Hackleton
AFC Hackleton is a community football club that provides opportunities for local children and adults to enjoy football in a fun, safe and supportive environment. Run by dedicated volunteers, the club helps promote teamwork, confidence, fitness and community spirit while giving young players the chance to develop both on and off the pitch.
Funds raised from the event will help support the club’s facilities, equipment, and ongoing player development across the village.
Horton House Cricket Club
Horton House Cricket Club is a well-established local cricket club that has been at the heart of the community for generations. The club brings together players of all ages and abilities while providing a welcoming social environment for families and supporters throughout the summer season.
Money raised through the Open Gardens Weekend will help support the club's maintenance, equipment, junior cricket opportunities, and future community events.
Bringing the Villages Together
One of the things that makes the Open Gardens Weekend so special is the sense of togetherness it creates. Over the years, the event has become about far more than gardening — it is a celebration of local pride, friendship and community spirit.
Residents from Piddington, Hackleton and Horton all play a part in making the weekend such a success, whether by opening their gardens, volunteering, baking cakes, or simply attending to support the cause.
The event is once again being organised by Pat Norville, whose passion and dedication have helped the Open Gardens become a much-anticipated annual tradition.
