Northants Knights are inviting the people of Northants to discover American football
Families from Northamptonshire are being invited to experience one of the county's fastest-growing sports this weekend as the Northants Knights Academy host their Under-16 home tournament at The Grange Sports Field in Earls Barton.

With free admission, food vendors, a licensed bar, ice cream, merchandise and a full day of competitive sport, Saturday's event promises to offer something a little different for families looking for a summer day out.
The Knights will face Birmingham Lions at midday before taking on Sheffield Giants at 2pm in what could prove to be a decisive game in the race for the final Midlands play-off place.

While Birmingham have already secured their place in the post-season, the afternoon clash against Sheffield carries huge significance as both teams continue battling for a place in the play-offs.
The Knights have reached the play-offs in each of the past three seasons and will be hoping to keep that impressive run alive.
For anyone curious about American football but put off by the length of NFL broadcasts, this is the perfect introduction.
Unlike professional games shown on television, British youth football is fast-paced with continuous action, minimal stoppages and no lengthy commercial breaks, allowing spectators to enjoy an exciting afternoon of sport without committing to an entire day.

Interest in the sport continues to grow across the county, with the Knights providing opportunities for young people aged 13-19 to learn, compete and develop in a positive environment.
The club has produced players who have gone on to represent Great Britain, earn places at the NFL Academy and secure opportunities overseas.
Head coach Liam Docherty sadi: "Our players have worked incredibly hard all season and this is a brilliant opportunity to showcase youth American football in Northamptonshire.
"We'd love to see the local community come down and experience something different.

"Whether you've followed American football for years or you've never seen a game before, everyone is welcome and we're looking forward to putting on a great day."
Around 200 spectators attended the club's previous home event earlier this month, and organisers are hoping to welcome even more supporters this Saturday.
Admission is free, with supporters encouraged to wear white as part of the club's 'White Out' theme and help create a memorable atmosphere.
The first game kicks off at 12pm on Saturday (July 25), at The Grange Sports Field in Earls Barton (NN6 0HL).
