Northamptonshire village pub undergoes major refurbishment

A former coaching inn in the village of Flore has had a major make-over. The White Hart, the sole-surviving pub in the pretty Northants village, has been extensively refurbished with improvements to the external fabric of the building and upgrades internally too.

British pubs are closing at the rate of two per day but the White Hart's owner, Manu Singh, is trying to buck the trend by investing significantly in his landmark pub.

Working virtually non-stop with a team of local contractors, the work has taken about 3 week to complete. "I'm very pleased with the outcome of the renovations" said Manu. "By exposing the lovely honey-coloured ironstone on the gable ends and by using traditional colours on the front elevation, we hope we have recreated the look of the White Hart when it was a busy coaching inn. We've always offered great food, super live events and a warm welcome from our friendly staff. Now we hope the White Hart is a truly attractive venue for our customers and a source of pride for the local Flore community".

Manu continued "I would just like to thank all our neighbours for their patience in putting up with any inconvenience whilst the work was taking place. Thankfully the local response has been incredibly positive".
