Northamptonshire vet practice recognised for inspiring the vets and veterinary nurses of tomorrow
A NORTHAMPTONSHIRE veterinary practice has been recognised for its commitment to inspiring the next generation of vets and veterinary nurses by giving students who are passionate about animal care the opportunity to explore their dream careers.

Northlands Veterinary Group has been awarded Approved Partner of the Year by Corby Technical School (CTS), in recognition of its commitment to supporting and inspiring school pupils through offering them work placements.
The practice is one of four organisations that have been highlighted by CTS’s careers team, who thanked the Northlands’ team for its “dedication to providing opportunities, sharing industry knowledge and helping students achieve their potential”.
Northlands Veterinary Group, which is part of VetPartners, a veterinary group that owns some of the UK’s most respected and trusted veterinary practices and associated animal healthcare businesses, has six sites across Northamptonshire including a 24-hour veterinary hospital in Kettering.
Northlands has been supporting CTS for eight years and has welcomed five of the school’s students through its doors this year. The practice also attends CTS networking events and careers fairs so more pupils can access information about working in the veterinary industry.
Northlands Veterinary Group HR manager Julie Walker says: “We are delighted that we’ve been acknowledged in this way by CTS and it’s great to be partnered with a school that is dedicated to helping its students with future careers.
“It can be hard for school and college students to find placements these days but we understand that if you want to follow a career path into the veterinary industry, having the right work experience is essential. We’re really keen to help as many students as we can so they can discover what working in a veterinary practice is really like. It’s also a great opportunity for them to speak to our team and pick up some useful tips, such as which subjects you should study if you want to be a vet and the type of work experience that universities expect to see on application forms.
“Hopefully, as well as helping the schools we’re benefitting pets and the veterinary industry in the future because we’re inspiring students to become the next generation of vets and veterinary nurses who will go on to save and improve the lives of pets.”
