The charity supports the hospice team in providing specialist hospice care to patients in their homes, within its inpatient unit, and at its wellbeing centre. It also supports patients’ loved ones, as well as those who care for them, across West Northamptonshire.

Nina Gandy, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser Lead at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, said: “We are truly grateful to have received this donation from David Wilson Homes, especially in such a key year for the hospice. Support like this from local businesses enables us to continue providing specialist care to patients and their families, both now and in the future.

“Without generous donations like this, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue providing our specialist care, both within the hospice and the wider community. This kindness helps ensure that patients and their loved ones receive the support they need, when they need it most.

“We are truly grateful to be part of the Community Fund scheme. Being chosen by a member of staff means a great deal to us, as it shows that the care provided by Cynthia Spencer Hospice has touched the lives of people living and working within the local community. With support like this, the hospice can continue to be a vital part of the community for another 50 years and beyond.”

This year, Cynthia Spencer Hospice celebrates 50 years of care, compassion and community and are planning a full year of celebration, remembrance and gratitude.

David Wilson Homes’ donation was made as part of The Barratt Redrow Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.

Ben Kalus, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We’re proud to support the incredible work of the hospice. This donation reflects our commitment to support the community and helping ensure patients and their families receive the care and support they need during the most difficult times.”

The donation of £3,000 will fund more than six days of care for a patient, making a significant contribution to the charity and enabling it to continue its vital work.
