Climb Your Mountain (CYM) was founded in 2008 with the mission of supporting individuals in overcoming their personal mountain and challenges through a combination of physical activities and educational resources.

Since its founding, CYM has delivered a wide range of free programs, including activities, talks and workshops, designed to empower and inspire participants. More than 5,000 people have taken part in these initiatives and over 120,000 individuals have accessed CYM’s collection of books and learning materials.

Barratt Homes’ donation was made as part of The Barratt Redrow Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.

Charlie Wardle, Founder and Trustee at Climb Your Mountain said: “I have personally faced my own issues with stress and depression, which is why I am a strong advocate for the benefits of physical activity and challenging yourself. I also believe that gaining knowledge and understanding is essential for managing and overcoming these issues.

“We would like to say a big thank you to Barratt Homes as donations like this help us massively. As a small charity, every contribution is extremely valuable and helps in many ways, including raising awareness so that more people can benefit from our work.

“Barratt Homes’ Community Fund scheme is a great initiative. Often the small charities get overlooked, yet do so much good work, so it is great this scheme is in place.”

Climb Your Mountain has received £1,500 and this will primarily go towards helping promote and deliver the CYM books to people. The four available books are ‘Overcoming Anxiety’, ‘Beating Depression’, ‘Increasing Confidence’ and the recently launched book is called ‘A Little Respect’.

Simon Francis, Managing Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “Supporting local charities like Climb Your Mountain is an important part of our responsibility to the community. We believe that initiatives like this make a real difference in people’s lives and we are delighted to contribute to their mission.”
